The Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport has recently published guidelines to Local Authorities on the setting of Speed Limits. http://www.speedlimits.ie/guidelines/
Leitrim County Council has to carry out a review of all Speed Limits in accordance with these Guidelines. This will be completed towards the end of 2015. Leitrim County Council is currently considering introducing a 30kph speed limit in all housing estates in the County. A public consultation will take place on this in August 2015.
